Using the model, basic information about the new model can be accessible. Although the hidden information may take some time or remain hidden for lifetime, the open segment will help evaluate the personality of the individual and the beliefs,
Models do nor apply alone to the new team members. They also apply to the existing members. Members may use the models to review the information on the existing members using the Johari model. Since the member is already known to the team, the open area is likely to the largest segment of the model. The blind are is slightly reduced as people who have stayed in a team for quite some time have much of their information already given about. The open free area provides the information that is known by others and known by self.
